Missionaries

We consider a couple ministering to the Kurds living in Berlin, Germany, our missionaries of record.  This couple, both ordained PCUSA ministers, serve as evangelists to Kurdish migrant workers and refugees.  They work to build bridges among Christians and Muslims, Germans and Kurds.  A half million Kurds live in Germany.

They have preached in our church and presented their ministry twice and are due to be back in the next year or so.  When they are home on furlough, they alternate between the south and the north as well as some churches in the east.  We are not naming them on our site for security reasons.

We chose to be in association with this couple because we signed the Commitment to Share the Good News which required that we choose an unreached people group for whom to pray and endeavor to encourage ministry that would bring the good news of Jesus Christ to them.  We chose the Kurds.  We had some connection with another couple when they were in Northern Iraq.  They left that area, so we looked for other possibilities.  The woman had been in ministry to the Kurds in London for several years.  The man was a pastor in the United States.  He felt a strong call to ministry to the Kurds and was asking the Lord where this would be.  While visiting Kurds in different areas of Europe and the Middle East, he was told he should talk to the woman as she would have information that would be valuable to him.  They met and it wasn't long before they knew that God was bringing them together to minister to the Kurds of Berlin.

This couple have seeker services and are seeing Kurdish people receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  Each summer they hold a day camp for Berlin teenagers where they sharpen English skills, advance their computer skills, and share the gospel.  Many of these youth are Kurdish but it is open to others as well.  They recruit people from the United States to help with the camp but also as computer pals for the students so they can practice English with a native speaker.

Please contact the church for more information about our missionaries, including needs and ways to reach them.
