Miles for Smiles logoHave fun, support local needs, and inspire service by being a part of Miles for Smiles!  Be an athlete, sponsor a team, or participate as youth and help support local charities and the APC youth programs.

Miles For Smiles (M4S) is a not-for-profit pledge drive program sponsored by Auburn Presbyterian Church (APC). The goal of the program is to raise funds for local charity organizations. The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet and The Gathering Inn will be the initial recipients of funds raised by junior and senior high school youth from APC as part of the M4S program. This pledge drive will also benefit the Youth Program at APC, paying for mission trips, camp scholarships, leadership training and some general program costs.

M4S intends to seek local individual and corporate sponsorships to help fund and support the program and the benefiting charities.

Coolest 24 Hour Mountain Bike Races

In the spring and summer of 2010 as part of the M4S program. APC youth will solicit sponsorship pledges for miles completed by M4S Team 1 athletes. M4S Team 1 consists of Bill Garcia and Steve Norman from APC. They will be competing in the Coolest 24 Hour Mountain Bike Races listed above. They hope to cover over 300 miles as a two-man team between the two events. APC youth will be working as “pit crew” and logistical support team for these events. The team will also maintain a kiosk for information about the benefitting charities, sponsors and the M4S program at these events.

M4S Growth

The M4S program is designed to grow as a local fundraising program through the addition of athletes (teams), endurance events, and benefiting charities. The M4S program will also allow for other organizations (approved by APC Missions Committee) to execute their own fundraising by attaching their pledge drive to a M4S team and event.
