Child Care & Sunday School

"Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children."
(Deuteronomy 4:10b, NIV)
Teaching our children the ways of the Lord is important at Auburn Presbyterian Church. Our Sunday School is well organized with a dedicated teaching staff. Each team of two teaches one Sunday a month so they can be in the church service otherwise.
Elizabeth Creencia, pictured above, serves as our nursery supervisor, ensuring that our youngest children have a consistent presence week after week. In addition to a wealth of experience, Elizabeth came to APC with glowing recommendations from employers and parents of children with whom she has worked. Find out more about Elizabeth on our staff page, or stop in the Nurtury from 9:30-11:30 any Sunday to say hello.
We have a Child Safety Policy that requires two adults in the class at least one of whom has been through the Live Screening at the Placer Sheriff’s Office. That person who has been screened may, however, teach alone if the need arises, usually this is with an open door or expected drop in visits. Having two people is a protection for the child but also for the teacher.
Sunday School is conducted during our worship service. All but those in the Nurtury start in the sanctuary and are dismissed to Sunday School.
